Texas Aggie Democrats was founded in 1975 to amplify student voices in progressive politics. We have a longstanding tradition of encouraging active civic engagement and democratic participation on campus. Over the years, we have organized voter registration drives, hosted influential guest speakers, and facilitated educational events aimed at empowering students.
Texas Aggie Democrats is a recognized student organization at Texas A&M University. We are dedicated to promoting the ideals of the Democratic Party through activism, education, and community engagement. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment that encourages students to discuss and advocate for progressive policies and social justice.
You can join by coming to our meetings, on Tuesdays, 6-7 PM (location TBD but check our instagram @aggiedems for updates). We welcome everybody; prior political experience is not necessary.
President
My name is Brooks Brigmon and I am a Poli-Sci Major from Keller, Texas. I enjoy listening to music (just not Noah Kahan), reading, and line-dancing in my free time. My favorite president is Jimmy Carter.
Being in Aggie Dems has brought me some of my closest friends and has also given me lots of opportunities to be more involved in politics.
Vice President
My name is Kaitlyn Young and I am a Senior Statistics major with a minor in Economics. When I am not studying, I enjoy crocheting, watching F1, baking, and reading.
I joined Aggie Dems in Fall 2024 and have loved being part of the organization ever since. Through Aggie Dems, I have met incredible people, become more involved in my community, and developed a deeper interest in politics at both the local and national levels.
Treasurer
Aggie Dems favorite super senior, (class of '26 whoop!). Music enthusiast and engineering major.

Political Science Major and part of the class of 2028. Some of my hobbies include reading and amateur photography. When I first joined Aggie Dems I fell in love with the sense of community and ability to meet new people it provided. Aggie Dems has also provided me with a number of wonderful opportunities such as volunteering with the Paul Thomasson Campaign.

Secretary
Howdy! My name is Dalton Hardaway, and I am the loudest and the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2029. I am a Sophomore Biomedical Sciences major with a minor in Political Science - Legal Foundations from Frisco, Texas. For the 2026-2027 academic year, I am serving as Secretary for the Aggie Democrats.
In my free time, I enjoy riding my bicycle, reading history books, and going to the gym. Being a part of the Aggie Democrats has enabled me to get involved in local political campaigns. I have enjoyed my time with the Aggie Democrats because the organization always has activities on the weekends to keep me active and to provide welcome breaks from studying. Joining the Aggie Democrats my freshman year allowed me to forge friendships with students who also share my love of history and politics. Participating in the Aggie Democrats helps make a large 80k-student university feel smaller when you see familiar faces on campus. Being a member of this organization has emphasized that “I Have Friends Everywhere”, Star Wars: Andor.
